1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of GPD Carpentry's website and services. By using our website or engaging our services, you agree to these terms in full.

2. Services

GPD Carpentry provides bespoke carpentry and joinery services including but not limited to: fitted furniture, media walls, kitchen installations, stairs and landings, general carpentry, and outdoor builds.

3. Quotations

  • All quotations are provided free of charge and without obligation
  • Quotations are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated
  • Quotations are based on information provided at the time and may be subject to change if circumstances or requirements change
  • A formal written quotation will be provided before any work commences

4. Acceptance and Contracts

A binding contract is formed when you accept our quotation in writing (including email) and we confirm acceptance of the work. All agreed terms will be outlined in writing.

5. Deposits and Payment

  • A deposit may be required before work commences, typically 25-30% of the quoted price
  • Stage payments may be required for larger projects
  • Final payment is due upon completion of work, unless otherwise agreed
  • Payment can be made by bank transfer, cash, or other agreed methods
  • We reserve the right to charge interest on overdue invoices

6. Project Timeline

  • Estimated start dates and completion times will be provided but are not guaranteed
  • Delays may occur due to factors beyond our control (e.g., material availability, weather conditions, access issues)
  • We will keep you informed of any significant changes to the timeline

7. Materials

  • We can supply all necessary materials or work with materials you provide
  • If you supply materials, you are responsible for ensuring they are fit for purpose and available when needed
  • We are not responsible for defects in customer-supplied materials

8. Access and Site Conditions

  • You must provide safe and reasonable access to the work area
  • The work area should be clear of obstructions before work begins
  • We require access to water, electricity, and toilet facilities
  • We will take reasonable care to protect your property during work

9. Variations and Additional Work

Any changes to the agreed scope of work must be agreed in writing. Additional work or changes may affect the price and timeline, and will be quoted separately before proceeding.

10. Warranties and Guarantees

  • All work is guaranteed for 12 months from completion (unless otherwise stated)
  • This guarantee covers defects in workmanship but not normal wear and tear
  • Warranties do not cover damage caused by third parties, misuse, or lack of maintenance
  • Manufacturer warranties apply to supplied products and materials

11. Insurance

We hold comprehensive public liability insurance. Proof of insurance is available upon request.

12. Cancellation

  • You may cancel the contract at any time by giving written notice
  • If you cancel after work has commenced, you will be liable for all costs incurred up to that point, including materials ordered
  • Deposits may be non-refundable depending on timing and costs already incurred

13. Complaints and Disputes

If you are not satisfied with any aspect of our work, please contact us immediately. We are committed to resolving any issues promptly and professionally. Any disputes will be subject to English law and the jurisdiction of the English courts.

14. Limitation of Liability

Our liability for any claim arising from our services shall be limited to the contract value. We shall not be liable for any indirect, consequential, or incidental damages.

15. Intellectual Property

All designs, drawings, and specifications created by us remain our intellectual property until full payment is received.
